1) Great Barrier Reef, QLD

The Great Barrier Reef stretches its magnificence for 2300km in length and 24km in width along the East coast of Queensland. The Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system, with around 900 islands and about 2,900 individual reefs, it really is simply magical. There is so much that you can explore on the Great Barrier Reef, ranging from islands that are home to pristine tropical beaches to beautiful underwater worlds that are waiting for you to plunge in and be a part of this magnificent ecosystem. I can go on and on about the Reef, but to summarise, it provides one of the most photogenic sceneries in the world.

2) Hill Inlet Lookout, QLD

The Whitsunday Islands are one of the Great Barrier Reef’s gems. The Whitsundays offer many alluring charms. There is one that stands out to many of its visitors, and that is the world famous Whitehaven beach, which was voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with 7kms of the whitest and purest silica sand that you’ll ever see. From there, you will be able to take a short boat ride to the other side of the island where the Hill Inlet lookout is situated. Gaze at the astonishing mosaic created by tidal shifts, the white sand and azure blue hues of the inlet. 

Sailing the Whitsundays is definitely the best way to explore this extraordinary part of Australia. Also, don’t forget that water-proof case for your phones, or simply take your GoPro as you will have plenty of opportunities to snap some oh-so-grammable photos of the Reef’s underwater world.

3) Maheno Shipwreck, QLD

The Maheno Shipwreck is one of Fraser Island’s landmarks. Fraser, or now known by its traditional name, K’gari, is a world-heritage-listed site, situated in the south eastern coast of  Queensland. When visiting Oz, Fraser is definitely one of the locations that you should visit at least once in your lifetime. 

Visitors have also described their visit to the island as an experience like no other. Pristine freshwater lakes, rich vegetation, amazing wildlife, long stretches of sandy beaches, including a 75 miles long beach that serves as a highway - Fraser island is one of a kind. 

When visiting, you will definitely come across the iconic Maheno Shipwreck. It was built in 1905 and even commissioned as a hospital ship in World War I. Now, she sits on the K’gari’s (Fraser Island) beach, waiting for visitors to come and admire. The wreck is easily accessed and can be viewed by any visitors passing by. 4) Gold Coast, QLD

Did you know that Australia has its own miniature version of Miami? Yes - you have guessed it. It is the iconic Gold Coast, QLD. The Gold Coast is indeed unlike any other Australian coastal city. The juxtaposition of the man-made structures/skyscrapers and the beautiful Australian coastline will leave you breathless. You can access an incredible view over the city centre, called Surfers Paradise, from the “SkyPoint Observation Deck” on top of Gold Coast’s tallest building, the Q1 Tower. Or for those daredevils who want to try out something different, why not try skydiving and take in the view of the Gold Coast in a different perspective.

5) Byron Bay Lighthouse, NSW

Byron Bay, situated in the Northern part of New South Wales, is in no doubt going to make it to our “most photogenic sceneries in Australia” list. The picturesque mountainous hinterlands of Byron Bay will give you great opportunities to snap panoramic shots of pure bliss. Ocean, mountains, farms, and forest - you can get  it all on a single shot at one of the many viewpoints in Byron (and its surrounds). The Bay (as it is known by the locals) and the Northern Rivers region have an abundance of spectacular nature, which is the perfect place for you to sit back, unwind, and take some stunning shots. Moreover, what comes to mind when you think of Australia? Surfing definitely! Surfing in Byron is a must-do as it's one of the reasons that led Byron to its fame. Another marvel here is the beautiful coastline, and the aquatic wildlife. So why not pick up a board and go for a surf? Whether you have never surfed before, or simply want to improve your skills. 6) Hunter Valley Wine Region, NSW

The Hunter Valley is one of the only wine regions on the Australian East Coast. It is very accessible when coming from Sydney, as it is just a short drive away. First class vino and view? The Hunter region is the answer. It's every Instagrammer’s dream come true, while you are indulging some of Australia’s best wines, you will also be spoilt by the oh-so-grammable cinematic vineyard views.

Maybe you will be able to even spot some of Australia’s native wildlife such as the friendly kangaroos and wallabis. There are several vineyards you should visit, and the best way to do this is to take a Hunter Valley day tour. Don't forget to stay hydrated throughout your trip especially in summer.

7) Port Stephens, NSW

Beaches, dolphins, refreshingly beautiful blue water, to-die-for viewpoints, national park, sand dunes, adorable coastal town, and the list is on-going - this is Port Stephens. Only 2.5hours drive north from Sydney, this magical coastal town will provide you with picturesque sceneries that will leave you lost for words. 

There are many locations to visit in this small but far-from-boring beach town. Be sure to visit Tomaree Mountain and Gan Gan viewpoint to get lovely views from higher angles. Gan Gan is accessible by car which makes it more convenient, however, if you don’t mind the trek, Tomaree is a short hike from the start to the viewpoint. Be sure to stay hydrated while you hike up. You will most certainly be taking some seriously amazing shots during your visit. 

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for friendly marine mammals like dolphins and seasonal visitors like whales. 

8) Sydney Harbour, NSW

They do say, there is no city like Sydney. This is my hometown. And even though this harbour city is home, Sydney and its magnificence never fail to surprise me. The city’s charm will leave you amazed every single day.  The combination of Sydney’s skyline, the harbour, and the iconic landmarks such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, is an awesome recipe for superbly photogenic views. 

Whether you are a city person, or nature lover, Sydney provides you with it all. You will definitely not be bored here. Be sure to have enough space on your memory to fill up your camera (or phone) with amazing snaps of this beautiful harbour city. 

9) Jervis Bay, NSW

Do you want to see one of Australia’s whitest sand beaches? Look no further than Jervis Bay. Escape the city for the day, and go visit this south coast village. Situated on the south coast of New South Wales, this location is nothing but dreamy. Another activity that is a must-do while in Jervis Bay is Dolphin watching. These intelligent aquatic mammals are there to melt your heart. Take a few shots, or simply bombard your phone/camera’s memory with snapshots of incredible sceneries of Jervis Bay. Fingers crossed that you might be photobombed by some sneaky dolphins!

Additionally, at night, you might be able to see beautiful bioluminescent planktons glowing up the shoreline. This occurrence is not always guaranteed as it is truly dependent on luck and timing. This breathtaking activity usually occurs more often during the warmer months. Moreover, when planktons glow, you might be seeing something out of the world - like the movie Avatar, but what you see might be harder to capture on a regular cameras. Even so, it is worth a visit as this is a spectacular phenomena.  

10) The Three Sisters, NSW

For nature lovers out there - this is a must-visit destination! Of course, one of the most instagrammable locations in the Blue Mountains is the iconic Three Sisters (the unusual rock formation). The Three Sisters is one of the most iconic scenic sites to visit when you are visiting The Blue Mountains. There is a viewpoint platform that was designed for visitors to be able to get a picture-perfect view of the Three Sisters rock formation. Take a few breathtaking landscape photos of this beautiful landmark, and while you are there, ask another visitor to snap a few photos of you (and maybe your entire crew) in it as a souvenir. The Three Sisters will sweep you away with its beauty and how photogenic it is.

11) Jenolan Caves, NSW

Something different? What about visiting some astonishing limestone caves, within the Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve in the Central Tablelands region. Just west of the Blue Mountains, this is definitely one of the most unique destinations where you can book a day trip leaving from Sydney. The caves are regarded as Australia’s most outstanding cave system. It is also said to be roughly 340 million years old. While you are there, be sure to get your camera ready for some amazing snaps.
