The famous Great Ocean Road stretches about 243kms between Melbourne and Adelaide. It is classed as one of Australia's National Heritages. It is known to be one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world. What is there not to love? The Great Ocean Road is famously known for the 12 Apostles, a group of magnificent rock stacks, sitting off the shore of Port Campbell National Park. The site is so beautiful that it is not to be missed during your Australia adventure.
Throughout the drive, along the breathtaking Great Ocean Road, you can pay several bays and beaches a visit. There are so many things to see along the route that you will be sure to take your time. Make sure to visit Apollo Bay, Torquay Beach, Loch Ard Gorge, and many more of the highlights! If you are lucky, you might be able to swim with the some dolphins too.

THINGS TO DO?
There are several tours you can take from Melbourne, whether it is a day trip or a 3-day Melbourne to Adelaide tour. There are several things you can do between Melbourne and Adelaide, along the Great Ocean Road. There is also the Grampians National Park which you can visit while you are doing the the Great Ocean Road.
Alternatively, if you are planning on camping along the Great Ocean Road, why not look at some campervan options here. There are several spots to camp along the iconic route. Why not take in some ocean breeze while waking up to some of the most beautiful views. This will be a journey of a lifetime.
GETTING THERE?
Most Great Ocean Road trips depart from Melbourne, alternatively you may be coming from Adelaide or the Grampians National Park. You can hop on board a guided tour which is a great option so you can enjoy the trip and take in the stunning views, or you could hire your own car or campervan and take on the route by your self. Either way is an awesome way to take in the Great Ocean Road.
ACCOMMODATION?
Accommodation is provided by all of our overnight tours. Alternatively, there are plenty of campsites available if you are travelling with your car or campervan. Hostels can be found in some of the towns along the route, like Apollo Bay, Torquay and Princetown, but are not as common as in other parts of the country.
OUR TOP TIPS?
Start early! Give yourself some time to stop and take in the picturesque scenery if you choose to do the driving yourself. The Great Ocean Road can be very windy, so make sure you take some protective clothing just in case it gets a little chilly. Try and do the trip during summertime to enhance your beach visits and make the most out of daylight savings.
ANYTHING ELSE?
Drive safe and make sure you take a rest if needed as there are many curves along the road. Make sure to drive within your limit and take it easy. Why not take a break every hour or so regardless of whether you need it or not? It is so beautiful, it is almost impossible not to take a pitstop every few minutes.
